This whole thing started out as an experiment. We This whole thing started out as an experiment. We were tinkering around with the recipe for a beer and decided to follow the same brewing process but we didn’t add any grain or fermentable sugars. We heated the water, we added a whirlpool hop addition, cooled it down and threw in a yeast strain and heavy dry hop addition. The rest is history. Our newest hop water featuring the Ales for ALS ho Our newest hop water featuring the Ales for ALS hop blend is ready! This blend of hops was provided by Yakima Chief and features Simcoe, Citra, Ekuanot, and Columbus hops. We are getting aromas and flavors of dark berries, grapefruit and lemon/lime, and this version is very unique. We will be donating a portion of profits to ALS TDI, an organization focused on ALS research and finding a cure. Special thanks to the crew at Barewolf Brewing for bringing this one into existence with us, and also a huge thanks to the breweries across MA and the retailers who’ve carried Hidden Path! Online orders will be available on the site within the next day or so, and we can ship pretty much anywhere.

We changed the name of the beverage category, since we’ve always felt that “hop water” sounds a little bland. We have a proprietary brewing process where we do all sorts of things that you’d see when brewing a beer, including the addition of a yeast strain (it’s like magic). For this reason, we feel that we’re creating more of an elixir than water. But you can be the judge of that! You’ll see these new labels popping up as soon as next week out there.

We are working to find a new production facility for future batches of the hop water, but it has not been easy to find a spot to produce it because of the process involved. If anyone knows of any beverage co-packers around MA who might be able to help, please reach out!

Which version has been your favorite? It’s been fun to play around with hops in this context. This place is where I really learned about beer production when I was working with @clownshoesbeer, and it is very surreal to now be delivering my own beverages here.
